  The project comparatively studies the refugee and migration processes from Turkey to Bulgaria and in the opposite direction in historical perspective and in the light of the diverse forms of migration today in order to outline the typology of resettling in European context so as to trace the processes of community formation and applying the symbolic resources of the communities in formation of cultural heritage at local and national level.

 

 

  Scientific Objectives:

  • To explore the formation of communities, which have resulted from the migration waves under concern, and to identify their types – local, cultural, ethnic, transnational;
  • To describe and analyze comparatively processes and patterns of cultural and national identity construction;
  • To outline policies and practices for evaluative rethinking of cultural heritage in local and national perspectives;
  • To explore the levels of communication between migrants and local people (in official and everyday spheres).
